    《上海生與死》

    是否因爲這幾天天氣漸冷，老人故去一個接一個，先是唐德剛先生，再是列維·斯特勞斯，然後是鄭念(Nien Cheng)女士，也就是《上海生與死》(LIFE AND DEATH IN SHANGHAI)的作者。這本書從韜奮西文書局買回來，還沒怎麽看。

    鄭念，畢業于倫敦政治經濟學院，丈夫是國民政府外交官，后受僱于殼牌石油上海代表処，1950年代死于癌症，鄭女士后接替丈夫任殼牌上海代表処代表，文化大革命時期因被懷疑有間諜嫌疑受到迫害，期間，女兒梅萍被害，1980年代赴美，定居華府，將這段經歷寫成此書。她不但是個美麗優雅的女人，而且也是一個意志堅定、不屈服的人。
